Word Work
Every Monday, expect a list of 10 words and 5 challenge words to come home. Your child will also record the weekly word list in his/her agenda. Our weekly lessons will focus on learning a phonetic pattern from our English language.
At school, we study the words during various "Word Work" activities and games. Generally, Friday will be the day when the test is administered. (In some cases, because of holidays or Pro-D Days, another day will be chosen.) If a student has all of the words spelled correctly on Friday, he/she is a “Super Speller”. After being a “Super Speller” five times, he/she will be rewarded with a chosen individual coupon.
Every Monday, "Word Work Home Practice" will be sent home for completion. Please ensure that "Home Practice" is completed and returned by Friday of each week. Test results will be sent home on Monday of each week in the "Home Practice" duo tang. Please review each test with your child and initial.
I appreciate any assistance that you can provide at home to help your child succeed!
