Patterns
We are reviewing pattern core, (part of the pattern that repeats), labelling different patterns (ABAB, ABCD, ABBA, etc.), and describing and changing attributes (colour, shape, size, and position). Students will be identifying pattern rules for increasing and decreasing patterns and extending the terms and solving word problems.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of increasing and decreasing patterns by describing, extending, comparing, and creating patterns using manipulatives and diagrams. Students will solve one-step addition and subtraction equations involving symbols representing an unknown number.
